Hi to all. I'm a long time fan of the
40k setting. I've just bought Dark Heresy and will soon be running a
new campaign. One of the things I do when I start a campaign is to
write some setting fiction to help my players get the feel of my take
on the setting. Anyway, this is the start of my story. If folks could
read it and give some feedback, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
My attempt at a Warhammer 40k themed zombie. These are presented as the progeny of a supernatural Nurgle plague, though they may be obviously adapted as a GM wishes.
Recently, while I was cleaning out the closet, I
stumbled upon my 3rd Edition Imperial Guard Codex. As fate would have
it, I watched "The Dirty Dozen" the previous night...I'm sure Tzeentch
is smiling and saying, "Just as planned," about this incident. Anyway,
I was suitably inspired to write up the following NPCs.
Early life
Like most Imperial Commissars, Yarrick was taken from his parents at
birth to be raised and indoctrinated by the Schola Progenium. He
learned the Ork
language while fighting them on V'run. Since that time, he has
extensively studied the Ork mind, and is considered one of the
Imperium's leading experts on Orks.
“Mad” Larkin is the master sniper of the Tanith 1st Regiment from the Gaunt’s Ghosts novels. I wrote up the stats to represent Larkin at the end of The Armour of Contempt.
He’s in his mid- to late-50s (one of the oldest members of the
regiment) and scrawny, which is why his S and T are lower than average.
His mental instability is reflected in his low WP and Fel. There is a
good reason why I gave him a very low Ag, but I’d rather not give out
any spoilers. I might change his stats once Only in Death is released.
The Blood Pact is a highly organized Chaos warrior-cult devoted to Khorne. Unlike many Chaos cultist warbands, the Pact fights as a
disciplined army, and this is what makes them so effective compared to
the disorganized Chaotic masses. Consisting of highly trained, vicious
soldiers and alien
mercenaries, the soldiers of the Blood Pact know no fear or hesitation.
They have overrun entire worlds and caused the people of the Imperium no small amount of suffering and woe.
I have written up stats for 40k characters from various fluff sources, such as books,
comics, video games, the tabletop game, etc. Here's my take on one of
the greatest commissars and the Hero of Volistad.
The Planet Carisa is a feudal world that doesn’t want to be feudal
anymore but is so filled with internal conflict the Imperium has kept a
tight lid on allowed technology on the world. The sprawling capitol
city of Parlisa is much like Imperial Cities on non-restricted world.
While not a hive build the city is filled with heavy industry and
agricultural processing and tech is unrestricted inside the city.
Outside the city on the rest of the planet technology, particularly
military technology is tightly controlled.
