When introducing new players into any RPG the GM must do as much as he can to get the players to understand the world in which they are immersing themslves into. He must discrbe each setting, each npc, every aspect of the world and how it's people/xeno's live and thrive. He must have a complete knowledge of the world in which he is placing his PC's, not to metion the rules.

If the valley had a name, Wazzdog didn’t know it, and he definitely didn’t care in any case. Walled in on the east and west by towering shear-sided mountains, the valley was a long, narrow strip of land covered in arid grass plains and buffeted by arctic winds that raced through the narrow pass. To the north the valley opened out onto the great frozen steppes, and to the south it narrowed and rose into a series of treacherous paths that lead over glaciers and mountains until they descended again, leading out into the warm southern foothills.

Here is a series of latin phrases that can be useful for players and GMs alike whenever a holy man appears to give a blessing or two. Specifically I have got six prayers, their translations into english (with hopes that they might be of better help) and descriptions of situations where they are to be used.

I've been using some rules for some armour damage in my games for a couple of sessions now. The characters have yet to hit any heavy combat so I've yet to test the balance of my own mechanic.  I thought I'd post the rules here to see what people think and to check the opinion on the balancing.

From certain perspectives, hive cities are nothing more than a collection of intersecting streets. If one is minded to view the metropolis through the eyes of a demagogue, there are millions of corners from which passers by may be harangued and abused. Any many see their world in this way. Naïve visitors to the hives are overwhelmed in short order upon arrival by the sheer ferocity and volume of the invective directed at them by hawkers, preachers, and bawds from every angle, in dozens of languages.
