Deep on the edge of the Calixis Sector, out
toward the border systems that lie upon the brink of the end of the
Imperium there lies a temple to the Omnissiah. Long forgotten about and
often without outside contact for centuries, the priests of the temple
study long forgotten technology and practice research that borders well
past heresy. It is among these hallowed halls of science that Tas-ra Bo
was born and raised and from here where he first discovered the breech.
Since my players have done the Inquisitor thing we've deceided do
the political thing, I always liked the Dune series and the original
move had some great scenes which inspired me to this.
'Fear us, for we are acolytes' is a scenario about the lies told to
fulfil selfish needs. The PC's play a group of con artists who pose as
an Inquisitors acolytes. They target wealthy but isolated people,
claiming they are heretics. The victim is killed and possessions taken
as evidence. Then the PC's lay low for a few months, living off the
wealth. then look for a new target. The gang consists of a Guardsman, a
Cleric, an Adept, an Arbitrator, a Tech-priest and a scum class.
A Squad of “The Sons of Guilliman” Space Marines rebelled against
the yoke of imperial rule; and the kill team’s sergeant killed off the
planet’s imperial governor and seceded the planet from its imperial
rule. The sergeant later became known as Constantinus the Liberator. After he plunged the local star systems into rebellion and war, an imperial vindicare assassin killed him.
I bought Dark Heresy, and I think it's awesome. So now I'm trying to stoke my head for all kinds of ideas and things,
and figure out what sort of approach I want to take. I've thought about
just keeping it relatively episodic, one mission at a time, with maybe
some hints and clues dropped in the course of it toward a larger
conspiracy. I also thought of going for a kind of sandbox approach,
setting up said conspiracy in ludicrous detail, so that the PCs can
just sorta be dropped in the right spot, given a gentle nudge, and
leaving the rest of the investigation up to them.
