The planet of Valhalla lies in the dense layer of stars in the heart of
the the Ultima Segmentum. Millennia ago the planet was a thriving and
lush world, with broad wide oceans separating the vast polar continents
a world known as a paradise planet, far from the dangers of the rest of
the galaxy. All of this was destroyed in an instant.
Commonly used by nobles or professional hunters to hunt big game in the wilds, these weapons have found their way in the hands of obscure characters that use them for altogether different purposes. Most of these rifles have such monstrous recoil that they are very difficult to fire without dropping them.
I decided that there were way too few talents, and thus too much overlap, in the class trees, and wrote a bunch more to either let characters bend rules in feasible and empowering ways or to help certain roles in the party that I believed were underpowered, for instance sniping.
Keep in mind that these talents are NOT equal to one another in power, and should each be treated as elite advances (the DM sets the cost, and determines whether or not a given PC has access). Depending on the campaign world, some such as targeteer might be even cheaper than 100 XP and available early, while others such as Sniper-Surgeon should generally cost over 300 XP and be available only to high tier characters.
Deep on the edge of the Calixis Sector, out
toward the border systems that lie upon the brink of the end of the
Imperium there lies a temple to the Omnissiah. Long forgotten about and
often without outside contact for centuries, the priests of the temple
study long forgotten technology and practice research that borders well
past heresy. It is among these hallowed halls of science that Tas-ra Bo
was born and raised and from here where he first discovered the breech.
Sean, whilst talking about play-testing,
teased us about a few elements of products being currently play-tested.
Thus me and fellow forumite PM102 decided to ninja our way into their
offices (and minds) and steal a copy of so famed options, our loot is
presented below for your perusal.
Since my players have done the Inquisitor thing we've deceided do
the political thing, I always liked the Dune series and the original
move had some great scenes which inspired me to this.
In advance of September’s release of Disciples of the Dark Gods, I
thought I’d have a crack at putting together some villains for your
characters to immolate. These two are low level scum, none too subtle or dangerous, and are
suitable for cornering in their feeble lairs and burning at the stake
in one convenient session.
Fantasy Flight Games, the publisher of Dark Heresy, has a spanking new website. The site looks great but I'm not sure how friendly it is to visitors with slow internet connections. Check it out here. Also, Ross Watson has put together a special downloadable preview of
the upcoming Dark Heresy book Disciples of the Dark Gods! This preview showcases The Beast House, a mysterious
organization infamous for smuggling xenos beasts and running
underground bloodsport arenas across the Calixis sector. You can
download the preview here.
