Somewhat inspired by Talassas alternate rules. For people not that happy with the current rules.

Psy Rating 1
  • Rolling a nine on the one die is handled as usual only that the psyker gets to subtract half his WP score(round down) from the roll.
Psy Rating 2
  • Rolling a nine on one of the dice when using two dice gives a +10 to the roll on the Psychic Phenomena table. For every additional die that also comes up as a nine another +10 is added to the roll, half of the psykers WP score is subtracted from the roll as usual.
Psy Rating 3
  • Rolling a nine on one of the dice when using three dice gives a +10 to the roll on the Psychic Phenomena table. For every additional die that also comes up as a nine another +10 is added to the roll, half of the psykers WP score is subtracted from the roll as usual.
When using two or less dice there is no additional risk for bad results.
When only using one die the psyker gets a -10 on any roll for Perils of the Warp
Psy Rating 4
  • Rolling a nine on one of the dice when using four dice gives a +20 to the roll on the Psychic Phenomena table. For every additional die that also comes up as a nine another +10 is added to the roll, half of the psykers WP score is subtracted from the roll as usual.
When using three or less dice there is no additional risk for bad results.
When only using two or less dice the psyker gets a -10 on any roll for Perils of the Warp
Psy Rating 5
  • Rolling a nine on one of the dice when using five dice gives a +20 to the roll on the Psychic Phenomena table. For every additional die that also comes up as a nine another +10 is added to the roll, half of the psykers WP score is subtracted from the roll as usual.
When using four dice there is a +10 on the roll for Psychic Phenomena, no additional risk for less than four dice.
When only using three or less dice the psyker gets a -10 on any roll for Perils of the Warp
Psy Rating 6
  •   Rolling a nine on one of the dice when using six dice gives a +30 to the roll on the Psychic Phenomena table. For every additional die that also comes up as a nine another +10 is added to the roll, half of the psykers WP score is subtracted from the roll as usual.
When using five dice there is a +10 on the roll for Psychic Phenomena, no additional risk for less than five dice.
When only using four or less dice the psyker gets a -10 on any roll for Perils of the Warp.
Any roll of 100 is unmodified!

Additional Talent and Trait rules.

Discipline Focus: When using a power from a discipline you have the talent Discipline Focus for you get a -10 on any rolls for Psychic Phenomena representing the rigorous training the psyker has gone through with the discipline.

Power Well: +10 is added to any Perils of the Warp rolls. This represents the pure chaotic power that the psyker calls on to fuel his powers.

Favoured of the Warp: The psyker gets to subtract 10 from any rolls for Psychic Phenomena and Perils of the Warp.

Soul Bound: Soul Bound roll at -10 on any Perils of the Warp rolls.

Any roll of 100 is unmodified!

Only Sanctioned or very well trained Rogue Psykers(GM discretion) get to subtract WP/2 from Psychic Phenoma rolls.

These are still undergoing playtesting... Let me know if they work for you...

I like these changes overall, but I think it'd be more appropriate if a Soul Bound let the psyker subtract his full willpower from the roll. Given that Soul Bound already makes it very, very hard to hit the Perils of the Warp chart, and the drawbacks it requires, this is appropriate IMHO.
